In this class you will learn to develop your flexibility, core strength and improve posture, perfect for those who find themselves sat at a computer all day, or just needing help to get toned and stretch out those muscles
What Is Pilates?
Originally developed during the first world war by Joseph Pilates, Pilates was an exercise program that was conceived as a course of rehabilitation. Over time, this extended to developing the body using basic equipment to build on flexibility and core strength and provide a balanced development of the body throughout.

Pilates doesn’t require you to be flexible – to start with – and even the more advanced practitioners aren’t exactly touching toes and stretching for the country. Pilates is more about controlled movements designed to get you standing straighter and taller and feeling better about your body.
Yes! Pilates is great for beginners and should push you to want to learn to do it better and more consistently thanks to the body’s movements of which you become aware of during each session.
Keep in mind that you will be moving freely in the pilates class and that loose clothing is recommended throughout. You will usually find people like to wear Yoga pants in a pilates class. Ensure that you have something comfortable to wear and something loose fitting to put on after to keep you warm when leaving the class
You should always bring a drink to a class. Water is all you really need so a good water bottle is advised like one from here.
As with all the classes and workout programs you will start to notice a difference in a matter of weeks but we like to say use this adage, you will begin to notice a difference in 4 weeks, people will start to see a difference in 8 weeks and everyone will see a difference in 12 weeks.
From better core strength to muscular balance, Pilates can help in your journey to better posture or even getting a back from injury or preventing injury. Pilates is the journey that most should take if you want to feel and move better.
